The Deputy Governor of Adamawa State, Crowther Seth, has called on Nigerians to embrace the National Livestock Transformation Plan otherwise known as the RUGA settlement, to stop violent conflict between farmers and herders.

He described the NLTP as a promising plan seeking to modernise livestock production in the country.

He said it would also stop violent conflict between farmers and herders which the Peoples Democratic Party government in the state had embraced and not hesitated to align with the All Progressives Congress led Federal Government’s plan .

He said this in Yola while announcing that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo would be launching the controversial RUGA settlement for nomadic Fulani herdsmen on September 10.

Seth had convened a strategic meeting on Wednesday with traditional rulers to inform them that the state would be joining other states who had shown support for the implementation of the NTLP.

He explained that the PDP was in agreement with APC led Federal government on that, adding “The NLTP is not about politics.”
